Richard Dale Rinehart

Richard Dale Rinehart was born in Fairmont, W.Va. on April 4, 1937 to James
and Tressie Pearl Rinehart. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Beverly Gail. He has three children, Richard Jr. (Barbara Sakowski) of Lakewood, Ohio, Judith Buckley (William) of Greer, S.C., and Jennifer (Kathy Brandt) of Spring Green, Wisc.; three grandchildren, Joshua Buckley (Amanda), Brittany Buckley and Jessie Buckley; three great grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Buckley and William Buckley; one brother, Robert Stanley (Carol) of Chesterland, Ohio; two sisters, Carol Reich
(Joseph) of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Jane Redmond (John) of Morgantown, W.Va. as
well as many nieces and nephews.

Richard attended Otterbein College and graduated from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio with a degree in accounting. He then worked for Ernst as a CPA before becoming the treasurer of Curtis Noll Industries.

He later joined White Consolidated Industries where he became operating controller and corporate vice-president of their various plants. White became Electrolux of Sweden, where he continued working until his retirement in 1997.

Richard and Beverly relocated to South Carolina to be near their grandchildren. While living in both South and North Carolina, he volunteered his services in many ways. Richard delivered meals for 17 years for the Meeting Place, worked at Habitat for Humanity, Tryon Country Club, Operation Hope, Jacksons Grove UM Church and Polk Vocational Services. He was inducted into Second Wind Hall of Fame in 2010.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Jacksons Grove United Methodist Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Operation Hope, 206 E. Rutherford St., Landrum, S.C. 29356 or Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, 130 Forest Glen Drive, Columbus, N.C. 28722.
