Gilbert Douglas Landers

Gilbert Douglas Landers, 71, of Valdosta died Saturday, Feb. 21, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born in Charlotte, N.C. on Nov. 12, 1943 and had lived in Valdosta for the past nine years. Mr. Landers was retired after 35 years as city clerk for the city of Landrum, S.C. He was a charter member of New Beginnings United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs, S.C. and a charter member of the Landrum Rescue Squad. Mr. Landers was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in the Cold War.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Kaye Landers of Valdosta, his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Michael Doherty of Crystal Lake, Ill., his son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Yvonne Landers of Valdosta, four grandchildren, Erin Doherty, Sara Doherty, Ethan Landers and Hannah Landers. He was preceded in death by his mother, Essie Epton Landers.
