To the editor:

In regard to the November 28, 2014 Bulletin article about who should hire the economic development director, Commissioner Keith Holbert said he “feels like the board of commissioners is funding the position, so commissioners need to have control.”

I wholeheartedly agree with Commissioner Holbert.  And since the people of Polk County fund the salaries and the majority of all other Polk County expenses, the people “need to have control” of the BOC.
