Tryon Running Club members Kathryn Gillie, Mike Ashworth and Laura Phelps presented Outreach with a check for $13,315, the proceeds from this year’s Tryon Half Marathon.  Outreach will use the funds to further its mission of providing compassionate assistance to Polk County residents who are unable to provide for their basic life needs.

Ashworth, a member of Outreach’s board of directors and the Tryon Running Club said, “This is the third year this club has worked with Outreach for their benefit, and it has been a great partnership.  Runners come from many different states and are treated to a terrific course, a wonderful brunch, a taste of the community’s hospitality and we raise money for a worthy cause.”
