Taylor Wahler, shortstop for the Landrum Cardinals softball team, signed with the College of the Holy Cross on Nov. 20. Wahler will enroll at the College of Holy Cross in September and will join the softball team there. A top liberal arts college located in Worcester, Mass., the College of the Holy Cross is exclusively undergraduate, embraces a Catholic, Jesuit identity and was established in 1843.  Its softball team competes on the NCAA Division I level.

Wahler was accompanied at signing by her parents, Richard and Tracy Wahler, and by her grandfather, Neil Lydick. Representing Landrum High School at the signing were Principal Jason McCraw, Athletic Director Michael Gentry, and her coach, Casey Smith.

Wahler began her softball career with the Cardinals in the seventh grade.  She is one of the relatively few Landrum graduates who has made the major jump from a Landrum uniform to that of a NCAA Division I team.
