Landrum and Campobello voters to choose governor, fill DeMint’s former Senate seat

Voters from the Landrum and Campobello areas of Spartanburg County will go to the polls Tuesday, Nov. 4 at Landrum United Methodist Church and the Landrum High School gym, respectively. The polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Anyone standing in line at 7 p.m. will be allowed to vote.

At the polling place, voters will be asked to provide one of the following types of photo identification: a S.C. driver’s license, a S.C. DMV ID card, a S.C. voter registration card with photo, federal military ID card, or a U.S. passport.

On the county level, voters will elect a probate judge, auditor, treasurer, county council chair, county council representative from District 5, Soil and Water District commissioners, and sanitary sewer commissioners.

On the state level, voters will select a governor, lieutenant governor, secretary of state, state treasurer, attorney general, comptroller general, state superintendent of education, adjutant general, commissioner of agriculture, and a representative for the S.C. House of Representatives from District 38.

On the national level, voters will select two senators, and one congressional representative for District 4. One of the senate seats will fill the unexpired term of Jim DeMint.

South Carolina voters will also be asked to vote on two state constitutional amendments. The first would legalize raffles conducted by non-profit organizations for charitable, religious, fraternal or educational purposes. The second amendment would change the method of electing the adjutant general to require that the governor appoint the state’s adjutant general with the consent of the state senate.

Spartanburg County voters will also be deciding whether to allow the sale of alcohol on Sundays.
