TLT announces cast for “A Christmas Story”

In honor of the upcoming season, Tryon Little Theater is staging “The Christmas Story,” adapted for the stage by Philip Grecian from Jean Shepherd’s classic movie of the same name. Running for two weekends, Dec 3 4-7 and 11-14, the show will take you Hohman, Indiana around 1940, and nine-year-old Ralphie Parker whose greatest desire is to own a Red Ryder 200-Shot Carbine Action Range Model Air Rifle. The play follows Ralphie’s desperate attempts to ensure that his perfect gift is under the tree on Christmas morning.
Anna Marie Kuether directs this talented cast of adults and kids, and will re-acquaint you with Ralphie and his classmates, the leg-shaped lamp, the bunny suit, the tongue-on-a-flagpole scene, and all of Ralphie’s extravagant daydreams, as well as the classic phrase “You’ll shoot your eye out!”
The cast includes Tim Daniels as the adult Ralph, Raines Strader as Ralphie, Nancy Winker as the Mother, Harry Grymes as The Old Man, John Henry Tennant as Randy, Shelby Cash as Miss Shields the teacher, Liam Daniels as Flick, Sydney Waldman as Schwartz, Remy Fifield as Esther Jane Alberry, Ella Waldman as Helen Weathers, and Grace Strader and Caroline Bresnard as children in the classroom.
