James “Jimmy” B. Arledge, 64, of Mill Spring, N.C. passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014 in the Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills, Landrum, S.C.

Born in Spartanburg County, S.C., he was the son of the late William Martin Arledge, Sr. and Louise Morris Arledge. Mr. Arledge was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans Center, Hendersonville, N.C. He was the owner and operator of Jimmy Arledge Hauling. He enjoyed fishing, the beach, camping, cars and most of all loved his grandchildren. Mr. Arledge was a member of Faith Baptist Church, Mill Spring, N.C.

Surviving is his wife of 41 years, Anne Hudson Arledge; one son, Andy Arledge (Emily) of Cary, N.C.; three grandchildren, Devon, Katie and Avery; two brothers, William Arledge (Judy) and John Glenn Arledge (Carmen) both of Mill Spring, N.C.; one sister, Lula Mae Walker (Dwight) of Mill Spring, N.C.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, N.C. with Rev. William Kanupp and Rev. Stephen McLane officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.
