Mosseller leads “Walk and Talk”

Artist, author and nationally known Master Rugmaker Ron Mosseller will lead a “Walk and Talk” of the Mills-Mosseller Rug and Tapestry Exhibit on Thursday, Sept. 25 at 2 p.m.in Gallery I at Tryon Fine Arts Center.

Using historical photos and sketches, as well as hand done renderings and a wide variety of stunning samples of the hand hooked work from local collections, the exhibit tells the history of the hand dyed rug business started in 1925 by Mosseller’s mother and run by Mosseller until 2007. The display showcases the variety of original designs which ranged from elegant and realistic to whimsical and comic, all painstakingly and meticulously produced by Mills-Mosseller studio. Vibrant one-of-a-kind rugs are on loan from many local private collections.

Mosseller, a long time resident of Tryon, will entertain with anecdotes associated with the colorful history of business. The exhibit will remain in Gallery I until Oct. 11. Many original renderings by the artist are available for purchase.
