Popular broadcaster and television news anchor Tom Crabtree has once again volunteered to announce the Veterans Day parade, taking place in Columbus on Nov. 11.

The award–winning broadcaster co-anchors the 5 p.m., 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. weeknight newscasts on WSPA-TV. With 38 years in broadcasting, native Carolinian Tom Crabtree is one of the best-known television anchors in the Carolinas. As the announcer for the Veterans Day parade, he will man the public address system from the reviewing stand on Mills Street and identify each marching unit as it passes.

Andrew Morris, Chairman of the Parade Management Committee said, “ We are very happy Tom has volunteered to help us out again this year. He is a popular and award-winning TV announcer and did a great job last year narrating the parade.”

The Veterans Day parade will begin at 10 a.m. near the Food Lion parking lot in downtown Columbus. Participating military and veteran organizations and many other groups are being recruited daily to march in the parade.

Veterans will be requested to wear their uniforms and medals and spectators will be asked to wear their red, white and blue and to bring their American flags to honor our veterans.
