Keven McCammon, Site Manager of the Facebook Complex in Rutherford County was the guest speaker at this weeks meeting of the Rotary Club of Tryon. The new Facebook data center, which is located on 160 acres in Forest City, is one of only four Facebook data centers in the world. The facility houses numerous servers necessary to support the 1.23 Billion Facebook users.

Mr. McCammon shared with the Rotarians some of the important considerations of locating the facility in western North Carolina, which included adequate water supply, a favorable climate, electrical reliability and training provided by Isothermal Community College.

Following his presentation, Mr. McCammon responded to questions about Facebook and the facility. The program was arranged by the Club President, Judy Lair.
