Fred Hudson Taylor, 73, passed away Sunday, Aug. 3, 2014 at Wake Med in Raleigh, surrounded by his family.
Fred and his wife Jo, enjoyed retirement and living on Lake Gaston. He retired from WRAL-TV as a news reporter/ anchor and assignment editor. All of his hard work and contributions will forever leave a stamp at WRAL. Fred loved to fish and enjoyed the outdoors as well as spending time with Jo.
Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Jo Coker Taylor; daughters, Brenda Howell and husband Billy of Nashville, N.C., Dianne Lee and husband Chris of Willow Spring, Tammy Martini and husband Chris of Indianapolis, Ind. and Tracey Benson of Garner; sons, Gary Bowen and wife Laura of Fletcher and Jim Bowen and wife Elaine of Whiteville; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 6 at Montlawn Funeral Home. The family received friends at the funeral home immediately following the service.
