Veteran marketing consultant Scarlette Tapp of Landrum has been elected to the Thermal Belt Outreach Ministry board of directors, filling a vacancy on the 12-member board that expires in 2016.
In making the announcement Outreach president Joe Epley said, “Ms. Tapp brings a wealth of talents and experience in not-for-profit marketing and promotion to our organization.”
In addition to running her firm, That’s It Marketing, she served two years as a communications associate for St. Luke’s Hospital Foundation and was a co-founder and, for five years, one of the volunteer race directors for the annual Ache Around the Lake fundraiser. Tapp’s firm also developed, organized and branded the inaugural Tryon Half Marathon for the Tryon Running Club that has become a major fundraiser for Outreach.
A graduate of the University of South Carolina Upstate in Spartanburg, Tapp began a career in television in California and then moved to CNN in Atlanta as a publicist. She and her husband Kevin moved to our area in 1999.
