Sixteenth annual Green Creek Heritage Festival

Published 6:39 pm Sunday, August 24, 2014

The Heritage Festival Parade is always a fun way to kick off the festival, one of the many participants in our parade this year is Connie Brown with her miniature horses. The American Miniature Horse is a very versatile breed. The minis are being bred to do carriage driving, jumping (in hand of course) obstacle, both driving and in hand, halter for conformation, and much more.

They are now being used as therapy horses for both children and adults, being less intimidating than their larger equines. They are a wonderful alternative for both children and adults as they are easy to handle, very sweet and willing, and quite versatile. They are also going to nursing homes, hospitals, and schools to the delight of those they visit. Participating will be Connie Brown with Max, Carol Jones with Stella, Jayne Arrowood with Blossom, and Trish Haden with Sweetwaters Little Fantassy.
Jeff and Connie Brown welcome you to visit them after the parade, or email at greencreekminis@yahoo.com any time. Come see these wonderful American Miniature Horses!!
If you, your group or organization would like to participate in the parade, contact Francine Costner, Parade Coordinator at 863-4065.
