It was a great showing for members of Tryon Painters and Sculptors at the eleventh annual Bring Us Your Best Exhibition. This juried, all media visual art exhibition is held at Blue Ridge Community College in the Blue Ridge Conference Hall of the TEDC building on the campus in Flat Rock. The Exhibition is sponsored by the Hendersonville Arts Council and is free and open daily to the public through Aug. 29 with the exception of Aug. 18 and 19.
Eight Tryon Painters and Sculptors members were accepted into the show. They are Grace Lertora, Bobbie Thomas, John Patterson, Denise Rose, Christine Mariotti, Bonnie Bardos, Shari Sherman and Carol Swetman. Of those eight, three were winners. Bonnies Bardos’ ethereal sculpture won an honorable mention, Carol Swetman’s watercolor also won an honorable mention and Christine Mariotti’s pastel entitled “Patterson Morning” won first place in the 2D category.
Mariotti attributed the good fortune to the fact that she participated in the Michael White pastel workshop at Tryon Painters and Sculptors. That experience got her going in the pastel media.
You can also see the works of these artists as well as the work of over 40 artists currently on display at the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Member Show being held at the Tryon Painters and Sculptors Gallery through August16.
