John Robert Heatherly, 70 of 102 Warrior Mtn. Road, Tryon N.C. passed away at home on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2014.
Born in 1943 in Henderson County, N.C., he was the son of General and Roxie Reece Heatherly (deceased.)
John leaves behind his wife of 45 years, May Ward Heatherly of the home; one daughter, Rhonda Early of Inman, S.C.; three grandsons, Scott Nelon (Olivia) of Mill Spring, N.C., Derrick Early and John Earley, both of Inman, S.C.; one grandson, Gabe Nelon (son of Scott and Olivia Nelon of Mill Spring, N.C.); two sisters, Joann Heatherly Newman (Reece) of Tryon, N.C. and Maryjane Heatherly Neil (Bill) of Etowah, N.C.; one brother, RC Heatherly (Jane) of Tryon, N.C.; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was employed at Hatch Mill in Columbus, N.C. for 15 years as a fixer and retired from Michelin Tire Corp. after 28 years. He was a member of Lynn First Baptist Church.
He was an avid deer hunder, and we are sure that he is enjoying the Lord’s beautiful wildlife.
Services will be held Saturday, Aug. 16 at 2 p.m. at Lynn First Baptist Church, which is located at 339 Thermal View Drive, Tryon, N.C. 28782, with Reverend Randy Dailey officiating.
