Tryon United Methodist Church celebrates the start of a new school year with the “Back to School Bash IV” on Saturday, August 9 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. The “Bash” is a community-wide celebration for students and their families. The church is located at 195 New Market Rd. in Tryon.

There will be free tote bags, beautifully hand painted by the Exceptional Students class at Polk County High School, and filled with school supplies. They will be given to as many as 300 students present at the event. Haircuts and warm winter coats will be given to those students in need of them.  Also provided for the students and their families will be a hot dog cook out with chips, drinks and desserts. Cotton candy and sno-cones will also be freely given.

The “Bash” is made possible with generous giving of time and funds from the congregation of the Tryon United Methodist Church and community-minded individuals and groups. This is a great day of sharing and all who participate receive a blessing.
