Mark your calendar for July 19 and Aug. 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. for the best car wash in Landrum. The Junior Firefighters to raise awareness and funds.
The Junior Firefighters Program started the year with a capacity membership of ten. This enthusiastic group meets the second and fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. – noon for hands on instructions. Lead adviser firefighter Philip Davis said,” We got lucky and our first applicants are great kids. Very Pleased.”
This is a non-profit program in need of uniforms and turn out gear. Through donations and the scheduled car washes they hope to raise enough money for these items.
The purchase of reflective address markers is planned to benefit the Landrum Fire Department and Landrum residents. The goal is to raise enough money to purchase the address markers. The Landrum Fire House will sell these signs. Sign up forms will be available at the car washes.
Davis said, “Reflective signs help the fire department and local residents when responding to an emergency.”
Support these projects by coming to the car washes July 19 and Aug. 9.
To make a donation to the Landrum Junior Firefighters Program either stop by the Landrum Fire Dept. or mail donations to PO Box 71, Landrum N.C. 29356.
