Volunteers are a very important part of our community and appreciated for all that they do. Smiles or a kind word from volunteers are so special to people that are in need. Hospice, The Meeting Place Senior Center, food pantries, thrift stores, and etc. use volunteers to serve Polk County members.
Volunteering is a rewarding job as you are helping someone that needs you. The Meeting Place, Polk County Senior Center is in desperate need of volunteers. We need drivers to deliver to our homebound clients through out the county.
Each person has a special need that is homebound; the kind voice of a volunteer is heart lifting to the sick and elderly. Pam Doty is the director of The Meeting Place in Columbus and can be reached at 828-894-000.  The Meeting Place is located at 75 Carmel Lane, Columbus, N.C. with two satellite sites.
