Recently, historian and author Joe Epley spoke to the Rotary Club of Tryon about The Mecklenburg Declaration of Independence, which occurred on May 20, 1775.  This review of our NC history served as a reminder of our forefathers who dared to risk all for our independence over 238 years ago.
