Rhonda “R.J.” Barfoot Reeves, age 58, formerly of Estherville, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at the John Keever Solace Center in Asheville, N.C. after a brief illness.
Rhonda was born September 3,1955, at Estherville. She was the daughter of the late Doris (Phillips) and the late Don Barfoot. Rhonda attended Estherville Schools where she graduated in 1973.
Rhonda spent time living in S.C., Kentucky, Texas and N.C. She loved traveling to exotic and interesting destinations to bask in the sun on some tropical beach and spending time with friends.
Survivors include sisters Becky (Scott) Summa of Okoboji, IA and Dawn (Bernard) Geithers of Pocahontas, IA; brother Roger Barfoot of Lakeland, Fla.; nieces and nephews Heather (Mike) McKinney of West Des Moines, IA, Jessica (Brian) Blackwell of Cowpens, S.C., Jason Barfoot of San Jose, Cal., Brandon and Zach Gathers of Pocahontas, IA; sister-In-law Maria “Irene” Prieto Matas-Barfoot of San Jose, Cal.; great-nieces, Aly Barfoot and Skye Blackwell of Cowpens, S.C.; landlords who she truly adored, Gary Corn and James Blanton of Tryon, N.C.; and her beloved dogs Qu-Bee and Pooh.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A small memorial service will be held at her home in North Carolina by her friends.
