Overmountain Vineyards’ “pop-up” store

Published 10:00 pm Tuesday, June 24, 2014

On Sunday, June 29 from 2-5 p.m. Overmountain Vineyards and The Cheese Store of Asheville will join forces for what’s sure to become the first of many collaborations. In this unique partnership, owner Katie Moore will be on hand with her “pop-up” cheese shop at Overmountain Vineyards.
Visitors can experience the full range of Overmountain’s wines through tastings, by the glass or by the bottle. Likewise, several cheeses will be on hand for tastings and for sale.
This is a unique opportunity to learn about the cheeses available in Western North Carolina and experience some of the best cheeses available throughout the EU.
“We are hoping that this event will be such a success that we will be able to talk Katie into making it down to Polk County every few months so our community can stock up on really great items that aren’t otherwise available in our county.”
In addition to cheese, other items such as locally made Cheese Boards by Twigwork designs, light & delicious crackers from Asheville’s own Roots & Branches, cured meats from Hickory Nut Gap Farm and Butcher, mouth-watering jams from Imladris Farm, Copper Pot and Wooden Spoon Dilly Beans and pickled asparagus will be available. Carmelita – a delicious goat-milk caramel that’s perfect for ice-cream, cheese or eating right out of the jar will also be available. Come hungry and bring a cooler for all the purchases that don’t get eaten on sight.
Overmountain Vineyards, located in the Tryon Foothills of Polk County is one of four wineries currently open to the public in Polk County.
