Floyd A. “Bill” Dyer

Floyd Alvin “Bill” Dyer, 77, of Mill Spring, N.C. passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014 at his home.
Born in Polk County, he was the son of the late Floyd C. and Zadie Dyer. Bill was a PFC with the U.S. Army from 1960-1962 and served in Germany during the Berlin Crisis. He retired from Karastan Bigelow, Landrum, S.C. after 37 years of service. He is a member of Big Level Baptist Church.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn Dyer; as well as his children which he loved dearly, Dwain Dyer of Rutherfordton, N.C., Dylan (Jan) Dyer of Mill Spring, N.C.; Jeannie Holbert of Forest City, N.C. and Rosie (Jason) Ruff of Mill Spring, N.C.; Beloved Grandchildren, Natasha (Oscar) Morales, Jonathan Holbert (Sydney), Dallas (Brian) Dyer, Andrew Holbert; Megan Dyer; RJ Ruff; and Sydney Ruff; Beloved Great Grandchildren, Noe Morales, Clayton Jackson, Mateo Morales; Special Friend Gladys (Junior) Conner and family. He also has several niece and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lonnie Ezra Dyer and Waitsel Lee Dyer; sisters, Mary Ethel McGuinn, Louise Dyer, Bessie Dyer and Elsie Dyer; and grandson, Matthew Dylan Dyer.
Memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 in Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, N.C. with Rev. Robert Orr and Rev. Don Hollifield officiating.
Family will receive friends from 5 – 6:15 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 just prior to services in Big Level Baptist Church, Mill Spring, N.C..
