Making a Magic Tree House out of pretzels, marshmallows, and peanut butter is FUN! Left to right around the table – Blair Searcy, Lindsey Marcello, Rachel Griffin, Chandler Burnett, Evan Price, Jace Barnes, Colton Bradley

On June 5 at Sunny View Elementary School, seven third grade students were honored with a Magic Tree House Party: Jace Barnes, Colton Bradley, Chandler Burnett, Rachel Griffin, Lindsey Marcello, Evan Price and Blair Searcy.
These select students earned their invitation to the party by reading at least 25 Magic Tree House books in their school career up to this point. Some of the books were read by the students while they were in first and second grades.
The party included discussion about favorite “Jack and Annie” books and about the author Mary Pope Osborne, games related to the book series (A Dolphin Ring Toss for Dolphins at Daybreak, Pin the Patch on the Pirate for Pirates Past Noon, etc.), and refreshments (an edible craft – making tree houses out of pretzels, marshmallows, and peanut butter).  The students agreed that they had fun reading the great books and getting the reward.
