Richard Prange, 88, passed away Sunday, June 15, 2014 at Four Seasons Hospice in Flat Rock, N.C.
Born in Vero Beach, Fla. he was the son of the late Henry and Anna Prange. A veteran of World War II serving in the US Army, Richard graduated from the University of Florida in 1950. He was retired from the Fellsmere Citrus Management Co. and was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Ethel Voeltz Prange; a son, Terry Prange (Beth) of Arlington, Va.; and two daughters, Roberta Gallo of Yardly, Pa. and Amy Zollo (Angelo) of Saluda. Also surviving are a brother, David Prange of Vero Beach, Fla.; and a sister, Ruth Prange of Vero Beach, Fla.; as well as seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Howard, Bill and Edwin Prange.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Tryon, with Pastor Tom Olson officiating.
Burial will follow the service in Saluda City Cemetery, Saluda, with military rites provided by Polk County Memorial Burial Squad.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-10:45 a.m. Thursday June 19, 2014 in Trinity Lutheran Church.
