Legendary coach to teach shooting skills

Retired basketball coach Seth Vining will be on hand on Tuesday, July 1 to teach the fundamental basics of shooting a basketball at the Basketball Shooting Camp at Polk County High School.
Vining, who recently retired after coaching for 38 years in northern Georgia will be in the gym teaching the fine skills of shooting.
During his coaching career, Vining had a record of 745 wins and 295 losses and was a state champion four times, twice with high school girls teams and twice with high school boys teams.
During his high school coaching career, he was in the Georgia Final Four 10 different times. In addition to his state championships, Vining had three teams that were state runner-up. In 2006, he was honored by being inducted into the Northeast Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
Seth Vining is a native of Polk County and both he and his wife Cathy graduated from Tryon High School and have family living in the area. The dates for the camp are June 30 – July 2.
