Looking for a few good men

Polk County 4-H is looking for a few good men (boys) aged 8 – 12 years to go to 4-H Camp. Each year, young people from Polk County spend a week at 4-H Summer Camp.  This summer local children are headed to Camp Betsy-Jeff Penn located in Reidsville, N.C., just northeast of Winston-Salem, July 6 – 11.
“We have already met our quota of girl campers and currently we are looking for boy campers,” said Helen Clark, 4-H Agent for Polk County. “We spend the week swimming and canoeing, not to mention the 4-H climbing wall, while meeting children from other counties in N.C. Our camp costs are extremely competitive because we subsidize the fee with funds from the Walcott 4-H Endowment,” added Clark.”
Those who have a young son ages 8 – 12 and are interested in camping, contact either Dot McClintock or Helen Clark at the Polk County Extension Center at 828-894-8218.
