Elizabeth Walker awarded Frank & Sybil H. Giordano Scholarship

Elizabeth Walker is the recipient of the Frank & Sybil H. Giordano Scholarship. Walker attended all four years at Polk County High School. She is the daughter of Brenda Turner and Seth Walker, both of Mill Spring.
052914-ElizabethWalkerScholarshipBWElizabeth Walker has had a strong academic record at Polk County High School. In addition to her classroom studies she was active in high school chorus, PCHS Yearbook staff, SPEAK, SAGA and Green Team clubs.
The Giordano Scholarship covers the entire costs of the freshman year at UNC-Asheville. In 2014-15 the estimated value is approximately $16,000.
Applicants for this scholarship must attend Polk County High School for three of their four years of high school studies. The applicants are interviewed by a committee of local residents. The Giordano Scholarship Committee is Judy Arledge, Frank Giordano, Richard Smith, John Vining and Tawana Weicker.
Walker will be entering UNC-Asheville this fall as a freshman.
