Rebecca Woodaman to receive Margaret L. Forbes Distinguished Scholar award

The Board of Directors for the Stuart and Margaret L. Forbes Foundation, Inc., is pleased to announce the 2014 recipient of the Margaret L. Forbes Distinguished Scholar Award. This $12,000 renewable scholarship is awarded to a Polk County High School student who demonstrates outstanding leadership, high academic achievement, a strong dedication to community service and participation in school clubs and extracurricular activities. The scholarship is awarded by the Stuart and Margaret L. Forbes Foundation and is administered by the Polk County Community Foundation.
Rebecca Woodaman is an honor student at Polk County High. She is a member of the Key Club, the Humane Society Club, FFA, the Photography Club and the National Honor Society. Woodaman’s hobbies include crafting, skiing, ice skating and riding her horse, Sunny Daze. She plans to attend Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C. in the fall. She plans to pursue a career in medicine and specialize in either cardiac surgery or neurosurgery. She is the daughter of Mike Woodaman of New Hampshire and Kris Woodaman and Dave Puckett of Columbus.
