Holy Cross Episcopal Church will have a booth at the 3rd Annual “Spring Into A Healthy Summer” event in Columbus, N.C., on May 31. They will be joined by the Tryon Running Club and will be discussing the “Couch to 5K” training program, local running races, running in general, nutrition, exercise and more. Holy Cross and The Tryon Running Club put on the “Couch to 5K” training program, which is designed to get people in shape to run a 5K race who have never run before. They are several locally held running races in the fall and this is an opportunity to prepare for them. Additionally, Holy Cross members will be on hand to discuss their “Good Health Diet” class and sign people up who may want to participate. There will even be samples of coconut water and information why it is beneficial to ones health. There will be an event every half hour with the tentative schedule being:
9:30 a.m. Running to lose weight. Tips to get started including shoes and gear.
10:00 a.m. Explaining the “Couch to 5K” program along with actually running the first leg so come prepared to move!
10:30 a.m. The Good Health Diet Class and a chance to sign up for the next ones.
11:00 a.m. Running Apps for smart devices.
11:30 a.m. Nutritional tips for runners.
The Holy Cross Booth will be on the courthouse lawn with the others and all are invited to stop by.
