The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship will meet on Sunday, May 25 at the Tryon Youth Center on Rt. 176 N. at 10:30 a.m. Reverend Sally Beth Shore will conduct the service. Her topic will be Memorial Day-An End to War.
Memorial Day-An End to War (and New Member Sunday).
“The fourth Monday in May has been set aside in the US as the day to honor those who have died in service to our country. And we do that – but we also long for an end to war.
What are the prospects for a world without war? How can we contribute to peace? World War II Veterans Craig Kinney and Raymond Stone will share their reflections about war.
We also celebrate and acknowledge our new members in today’s service.”
Their June 8 service will consist of a potluck lunch and annual meeting.
Although the service starts at 10:30 a.m., good fellowship is shared by those who come early.
