Two permanent pieces of art have been placed in S.C. District One Schools as a result of work done by students of art teacher Julia Snyder.
Students and teachers at New Prospect Elementary School (left) proudly unveil the mural that will permanently hang in their school.
The project initiated by art teacher Julia Snyder and supported by Be Inspired Grants (B.I.G.) at Tryon Fine Arts Center, introduced students to the marine art of Robert Wyland and his beliefs in ocean conservation. Students learned the art of grid drawing to enlarge artworks by working collaboratively throughout the year.   Ms. Snyder also used some of the funding received from her B.I.G. grant to teach the work of Jackson Pollack to her students.
The students created a three-panel abstract piece (right), which currently hangs in the District One office.
