Lunch with Dorothea Benton Frank at the Landrum Library as she begins her tour to launch her new book, The Hurricane Girls. The Spartanburg County library is sponsoring a book giveaway and program with New York Times best-selling author Dorothea Benton Frank at the Landrum Library on Tuesday, June 3 beginning at noon.
Best-selling author, public speaker, nonprofit fundraiser, Frank has written 14 previous novels which have been on the New York Times Bestsellers List. She was born and reared on Sullivan’s Island, S.C. She now divides her time between the Lowcountry of South Carolina and New Jersey.
A Barnes and Noble editorial review states: Beloved New York Times bestselling author Dorothea Benton Frank once again takes us deep in the heart of the magical Lowcountry—a sultry land of ancient magic, glorious sunsets, and soothing coastal breezes, where three generations of strong women wrestle with the expectations of family while struggling to understand their complicated relationships with each other. Filled with her trademark wit, sassy, heartwarming characters, and the steamy Southern atmosphere and beauty of her beloved Carolina Lowcountry, The Hurricane Sisters is Frank’s tale of the ties and lies between generations (from Dorothea Benton Press Release.)
The first 100 people at the event will be given a book by the Spartanburg County Libraries.
The doors will open at 11:30 a.m. Hub City books will have more copies of the books for sale. Please note that one book will be given to one person and books may not be reserved in advance. Please fill free to bring a bag lunch to eat as you listen to Frank talk about her novels.
