Jim Carson, Saluda artist, will offer an outdoor workshop in Saluda, Thursday- Saturday, June 5-7, titled “Fresh Paint/ A Plein Air Experience”.
The focus of the workshop will be to simplify the painting approach, while learning to apply the paint quickly and confidently. The workshop will be held at three different, but convenient, locations.
Open to all levels, from beginners to advanced, Jim will give a lengthy demonstration on Thursday, followed by individual attention at each student’s easel, as needed.
A detailed list of supplies and materials will be sent after registration. The Saluda Grade Café will bring lunch to the site each day, this allows the students to relax and keep their concentration on painting.
In the event of rain, there is ample room in Jim’s studio, which is located above the Saluda Grade Café.
Jim recently had one of his paintings accepted to the Oil Painters of America 2014 National Juried Exhibition in Bennington, Vt. June 4-July 27.
