Polk County Historical Association Program May 6

At the PCHA meeting on Tuesday, May 6, attendees will hear the two sides of the “Battle of Round Mountain” – a descendant of a survivor of the Hannon massacre, Anna Conner; and the Cherokee side presented by Daniel and Kay Garvin and Jackie Plumley.
042714-PolkCountyHistoricalAssociationProgram_MNever look at the memorial that commemorates the battle (located on the Sterns Park grounds in Columbus) the same way again.  Also those present at the event will be entertained by Cherokee music – a drum and a song on a flute that was played on the “Trail of Tears”.
This program will be presented at the museum in Columbus at 2:30 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
