Clara O’Sullivan Edwards, 88,  formerly of  Mill Spring, N.C., died Monday, April 28, 2014 in the Hospice House  of the Carolinas Foothills, Landrum, S.C.
Born in Gaffney, S.C., she was the daughter of the late Miles Guynn and Clara Morrow O’Sullivan. Mrs. Edwards was the widow of James Edwards who passed away in  1996. She retired from Hatch Mills, Columbus, N.C. after 50 years of service. Clara was the treasurer of the ladies auxiliary of the VFW Post #10349 of Mill Spring, N.C. for a number of years and was a member of Midway Baptist Church.
Surviving are: two daughters, Patricia E. “Patsy” Mills ( Jack ) of Mill Spring, N.C., and Brenda E.  “Bunny” Houston (John) of Inman, S.C. Also surviving are two grandchildren Brenda Turner (Seth Walker) and Heather Eidson (Matt)  and 4 great- grandchildren; Elizabeth & Emily Walker and Corley & Pressley Eidson.
Funeral Services will be held   11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 3, 2014 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel, Tryon, NC, with Rev. Peter McDonald and Rev. Wesley Price officiating.
Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens, Columbus, N.C.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday  just prior to the service in the McFarland Funeral Chapel
