Two Polk women arrested for embezzlement of employer

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a local business owner who said they believe they had employees who were embezzling from them.
Investigators started gathering transaction statements as well as video from the businesses surveillance cameras and were able to determine that two females were taking money as they were processing sales.
Jinsey Rayne Towery, of 2827 Houston Road, Columbus, was charged with 30 counts of larceny by employee.
Towery had been employed by the business since June 2013.
Lisa Gail Burrell, of 36 Freedom Drive, Mill Spring, was charged with 15 counts of larceny by employee. Burrell had been an employee by this business since October 2013.
Both are currently out on bond waiting trail with their next court appearance scheduled for May 14.
