For those who haven’t been to Harmon Field lately, now is a beautiful time to go.  Everything is blooming and the noble trees are getting settled into their forever home.
With a gracious and much appreciated grant from the Polk County Community Foundation Mary F. Kessler Fund, they were able to purchase and plant twenty new trees – oak, maple, seedless sweet gum, elm and bald cypress.  King’s Sunset Nursery delivered and planted the twenty trees. The local beaver (one of many) took a big bite of one within a week, but the Nursery replaced it at no cost.
Polk County is fortunate to have a park like Harmon Field, volunteers who help enhance the grounds, a staff who work hard, a Polk County Community Foundation and a Mary F. Kessler Fund which provide grants for projects to beautify the community.
