Polk County Girls Track runner up at Western Highlands Conference

The Polk County Girls Track team finished second at the 2014 Western Highlands Conference Outdoor Track Championships April 9. Hendersonville scored 186.50, Polk 165.50, Avery 128, Owen 80, Mitchell 45, Mountain Heritage 7, Madison 6. Top finishers from first to eighth place in each event score team points; 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1.
Freshman India Godlock would earn two individual Conference titles winning both the 400 and 800 Meter events and a third by anchoring the 4×400 Meter Relay to a first place finish and into a 2A Regional Qualifying position.

Long Jump – Burke second 15-0, Marissa Longshore third 14-4.5, Wheeler fourth 13-8.
Triple Jump – Wagoner seventh 27-1, Mullins eighth 24-6.5, Lindy Desmaris tenth 23-4.
High Jump – Burke third 4-6, Longshore fourth 4-4.
The Lady Wolverines will compete at the 2A Regionals hosted at Polk County on May 3.
