Landrum Middle School Cardinals baseball team off to a great start

The team got off to a great start at Mabry on March 17, scoring two runs in the first inning. They added another run in the third inning making the score 3-0.
The Cubs scored two runs in the second inning thanks to Cardinal errors. Dalton Kuykendall pitched a great game, striking out 8 batters.
Cree Waters came in to pitch in relief and held the Cubs scoreless, striking out 2 in relief. Dalton Kuykendall and Alex Hawk led the Cardinals at the plate with 2 hits each. Michael Clark added a big hit driving in Zander.
Dalton scored 2 runs and Zander Steele scored 1 run.
Easton Jenkins played a superb game behind the plate. The Landrum team left 9 Cardinals in the tree, (as in left on base).
The team played another exciting game on Thursday, March 20, this time against CGS.
On the big stage at the LHS ball field, the Cardinals were treated really well, with music between innings, announcer, JV Coaches, Coach Little and AD John Cann, and a hot dog and water after the game.
Dalton Kuykendall once again led the hitting with 3 hits, Alex Hawk, & Drake Taber had 2 hits each. Zander Steele & Adam Powell ripped 2 big RBI singles each. Drake Taber had an RBI single and Easton Jenkins added a single and blocked the ball well behind the plate.
Dalton Kuykendall led the Team scoring 3 runs. Zander Steele scored 2 runs and Cree Waters, Easton Jenkins, and Drake Taber scored one run.
Dalton Kuykendall had a Gold Glove game at short stop.
Final score: Cardinals 7 CGS 4. Friday was another Moon Pie day to reward the team’s effort.
