Voice recital at Holy Cross on Wednesday, April 9

The gift of voice will be celebrated in the next Wednesdays at Noon Lenten Recital at Holy Cross Episcopal Church in Tryon on April 9. Wanda May, soprano, and Jeanette Shackelford, piano, will present a program of classical, sacred and secular music.
Wanda May has received the Silver Medal for vocal performance from the Royal School of Church Music in America. She sings in the Carolina Community Chorus and the Holy Cross Choir and frequently performs as a soloist in the community.
Jeanette Shackelford holds degrees in piano and voice from Wesleyan College, Macon, Ga., and the University of Georgia. She has served in music, arts and administration at the college level. Shackelford teaches voice and sings in the Holy Cross Choir.
May and Shackelford are both Foothills Music Club board members and perform regularly in FMC events.
This is the final recital of this year’s Lenten recital series at Holy Cross. Beginning at noon, the Lenten recitals are 30 minutes long, and admission is free. Holy Cross Episcopal Church is located at 150 Melrose Avenue, Tryon. For more information, please call 828-859-9741.
