On Tuesday, March 25, the Tryon Country Club Women’s Golf Association opened their 2014 golf season in the clubhouse’s beautifully decorated-for-spring Donald Ross room with a delicious breakast prepared by Claire Conrad, chair, and her committee: Peggy Henson, Heidi Shull and June Current.
President Lynn Chalmers introduced the new officers: Judy Muncy, vice president; Becky Kennedy, secretary; and Georgeanne Murphy, treasurer.
Club pro Gerald Weathers welcomed the TWGA back for the new season and brought members up to date.
President of the Board of Directors, Jerry Perry also spoke about a number of items of interest.
Although the breakfast is traditionally followed by a game of golf, inclement weather discouraged the club from doing so.
On Tuesday, April 1, the weekly event will be Low gross, low net and closest to the Pin on number 9.
