Public’s help sought in Dogwood Trail break-in

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in identifying and locating the person responsible for a break-in that occurred on Dogwood Trail in Tryon on Tuesday, May 18.
The sheriff’s office sent a Nixle message Thursday, May 20 releasing details of the break-in.
Investigators say the break-in to the home occurred between 8:40 and 11:43 a.m.
The suspect gained entry into the home through a side door.
A bedroom of the home was ransacked and a large amount of jewelry was taken, according to reports.
Reports were made of a suspicious brown, four-door vehicle seen in the area during the time of the break-in.
“We’re checking all leads,” said Polk County Sheriff Donald Hill.
Anyone with information regarding the break-in or any other crime is urged to contact the sheriff’s office at 828-894-3001 and ask for Det. Sgt. Randall Hodge who is investigating the case.
