Polk Friends of Agriculture breakfast March 19

Polk County Friends of Agriculture monthly breakfast will take place on Wednesday, March 19 from 7 -8 a.m. in downtown Columbus.
This Farm Bureau sponsored event offers networking and educational opportunities to community members.
The Polk County Office of Agricultural Economic Development and Polk County Farm Bureau invite interested citizens to join area farmers and supporters of agriculture for their monthly breakfast.
This month’s breakfast topic is specialty crops and will feature a presentation from an expert in horticultural crop research from our area. Dr. Jeanine M. Davis is an associate professor and extension specialist for the Department of Horticultural Science at N.C. State University. The breakfast will feature various dishes with locally sourced foods.
The breakfast will run from 7 to 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 19, at the Polk County 4H Center, located in downtown Columbus, on Locust St.
Immediately following the breakfast, there will be an informational session for food producers interested in selling through Polk Fresh Foods.
Polk Fresh Foods is a Polk County-based food marketing and distribution service that connects local growers with local and regional buyers. Learn more about this innovative program immediately following the scheduled breakfast.
