Praise Pastor Olson

To the editor:

I would like to take this opportunity to praise Pastor Thomas Olson for the reading of his prayer at a recent county commissioner’s meeting.

It did my heart good to hear that we still have people in our community that have the courage to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ, no matter what the venue.

What is so unfortunate, is that so many people in the meeting were upset at hearing the gospel. I guess we could conclude, that this was a small picture, of our community’s spiritual health.

The Bible speaks of a time when the gospel will become a stumbling block for many people. We would do well to remember that Jesus said, “I am the way,  the truth and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

I know by his testimony that Pastor Olson is experiencing the blessings of the Lord himself, as a result, of the persecution he has suffered. Jesus said, “blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my name sake.”

People of Polk County don’t ever doubt that our county and America will be judged for our sins. We will reap what we sow. If we want god to bless America we have to live by God’s rules.

I’ll be much in prayer for the people of our county and  America.

Respectfully,

– William Mills,
