Humane society announces new board of director members

Foothills Humane Society (FHS) Board of Directors recently announced eight new board members who each will serve a three-year term.

David Pritchard, board president, confirmed the new members in the January board meeting.

“We are so fortunate to have such diverse backgrounds with our new board members. This will allow us to move forward in 2014 and the coming years with new ideas and new perspectives,” said Pritchard.

The eight new board members are Joe Eskridge, Rosemarie Gerstenberger, Steve King, Beverly Ozmon, Joan Roseberry, Kelly Vinesett, Linda Williams and Marily Williams.

Foothills Humane Society is a 501 (c)(3) organization. FHS is an animal welfare organization serving the rural foothills of Polk County, North Carolina and northern Greenville and Spartanburg counties of South Carolina.

FHS began in 1957 as the volunteer-operated Polk County Animal Protection Society and received its non-profit status in 1989.

Since its incorporation, FHS has grown tremendously through generous community support, private donations and dedicated volunteer efforts.
