Carolina Schooling Series is sponsoring a food drive at the Schooling Show to be held at Harmon field on March 1.
Riders, trainers and spectators are urged to bring a non-perishable food item.
A box will be located at the registration table for the food collection. Donated items will be used to fill backpacks for hungry school children.
“It’s heartbreaking to know there are children in our area who do not have adequate food to eat at home on the weekends,” says Linda McDaniel, a Carolina Schooling Show and food drive organizer. “By banding together and each contributing at least one item, we can make a big difference in the lives of these children.”
Suggested items are: individual boxes of cereal bars, juice boxes, fruit cups, pudding cups, applesauce, peanut butter, cheese crackers, pop-top cans of spaghetti-os, ravioli, beanie weenies, soup and mac ‘n’ cheese.
