On Feb. 18, 2014, students participated in a recital for Tryon Estates residents and were presented with certificates, photos and DVD recordings by Al Hart, President of the Laurel Lake Music Society, confirming their award of a fully paid 3 – week music workshop at the Cannon Music Camp.

This award covers their tuition, room and board for the acclaimed School of Music in Boone, NC during June and July of 2014.

The students were selected based on their excellence in performing during an audition conducted on Jan 18, 2014. The awards are made possible by the donations of Tryon Estates residents. The recital was well attended and many parents and relatives were present. All students are from either the Polk County High School or Landrum High School.
