Lake Lure Classical Academy (LLCA) recently hired Scarlette Tapp, marketing director of That’s IT Marketing, to serve as the school’s part-time development and marketing director.

With a strong background in branding, marketing and message strategy, Tapp’s focus at LLCA is to recruit new students, market the school and fundraise for the new campus. Tapp brings a wealth of talent to the position with previous experience working in television development for Dreamworks and Universal TV in Los Angeles, and public relations for CNN in Atlanta.

Using funds donated by the Lake Lure Community Education Foundation (LLCEF), LLCA was able to hire Tapp, making her the school’s first official marketing director. Before hiring Tapp, LLCA’s marketing efforts came from volunteers on the school board’s marketing committee. Adding Tapp to the school’s roster brings much enthusiasm and relief. LLCA Director Jessica Boland is eager for Tapp to begin.

“The fact that it is now someone’s sole responsibility to market LLCA not only takes a huge amount of work off my plate, but gives me even more excitement about our potential for growth once our school’s excellent reputation becomes more known,” said Boland. “I am so thankful to the Lake Lure Community Education Foundation for making this position possible.”

Tapp is excited about the opportunity to promote the LLCA brand and to help make the school’s new campus a reality.

“I am grateful to come into this position knowing that Mrs. Boland and her team of teachers and parent volunteers have already set in motion a strong plan of community engagement,” said Tapp. “This is truly an exciting time for me to join the school and share the story of Lake Lure Classical Academy’s unique and innovative educational approach.”
