Moore is a graduate of Western Carolina University, with a bachelor of fine arts degree in painting and graphic design. His postgraduate study in England, France and Italy focused on portraiture and landscapes.

Moore’s 32-year career in the airline industry as a flight attendant, systems instructor and director spanned from Frontier, United Express and World Airways to more recently, US Airways, from which he retired five years ago.

His corporate designs include work in passenger cabin, galley and in-flight service systems for Boeing, British Aerospace and Airbus.

Since his retirement from commercial aviation, Moore continues his design work as a set designer for the Tryon Little Theater and an instructor with Tryon Painters and Sculptors. He maintains a studio at his home in Columbus.

“I love the feel of a smooth graphite pencil in my hand as I gaze down on a clean sheet of drawing paper,” Moore said.

The show by Lindsey Moore is at The Holy Cross Episcopal Church Gallery through March. Holy Cross Episcopal Church is located at 150 Melrose Avenue in Tryon. Open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Thursday and on Sunday mornings.
